Family Division

We prepare Fair Market Value appraisals to aid in the distribution of property during family division. In the event of divorce or settlement of an estate, we will prepare an unbiased assessment of the property’s value to ensure an equitable resolution. This helps all parties make informed decisions about whether to keep, sell, or divide the property fairly. The completed report can be used as evidence in mediation or court if needed.

Our process for creating an appraisals report for family division:

Purpose: We will meet with the client to clearly define the purpose of the appraisal.

Scope of Work: We then determine the scope of the appraisal, including which artworks will be appraised.

Inspection: The artworks are photographed and measured to assess their condition, and any unique features that may affect value.

Documentation: Please provide us with relevant documentation about the artworks, including provenance, purchase receipts, and any previous appraisals.

Report Preparation: The collected data, analysis, and findings are compiled into a detailed report. It will include an explanation of the methods used, the scope of work, and the appraiser’s certification.
